East Central University Athletics

ADA – East Central University cross country junior Cale Eidson has been named to the 2012-13 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 First Team after a strong 2012 cross country season and is the lone student-athlete on the 18-member team from the Great American Conference.

The Calera, Okla., native has a 3.58 GPA in history education and adds to his academic honors for the season after earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors earlier this season for the second-straight year.

Eidson was an All-GAC First Team pick in 2012 after helping pace the Tigers to back-to-back GAC titles. He finished second overall at the 2012 GAC Championships and was the top finisher for ECU in six of seven races during 2012.

Eidson finished the season by earning 24^th overall at the NCAA Central Regional and claiming NCAA All-Central Regional honors. His time helped push the Tigers to an 11^th-place finish at the regional.

By earning a spot on the All-District First Team, Eidson is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American honors vote.
