Jacey Henry has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week for March 6. It is the first award of the season for by Henry and the Tigers.
ECU improved to 10-8 overall and 5-3 in the GAC after a sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State last weekend. Henry threw a complete game in the circle and also started in all four games as a batter.
On the mound, she allowed six hits and three runs (one earned), walked one batter and struck out three. The Marietta, Okla., native did not allow more than a single and held the Bulldogs to a .214 batting average in 7.0 innings.
As a batter, she hit .538 for the weekend, with seven hits, seven runs, two doubles, a home run, and seven RBIs. She earned a .923 slugging percentage and a .647 on-base percentage, while going 1-for-1 in stolen base attempts and recording a 1.000 fielding percentage (two putouts/one assisted).
The Tigers will play their first home games of the 2018 season, March 9-10 at Tiger Field. ECU will host Northwestern Oklahoma State for a four-game series, with double-headers set for each day. Friday's games are slated to start at 1 p.m. and Saturday's at noon.
