The East Central University women's basketball team will be wrapping up a four-game road trip, Saturday, Dec. 14 when they travel to face Midwestern State at 4 p.m. at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
Game Notes
The Broadcast
ECU's radio home for Lady Tigers basketball in 2013-14 is Ada's KXFC, 105.5, FM 'The X-Factor'. Kenny Morrison returns to broadcast the games for his 17th season. Morrison, a 1987 ECU graduate, spent two seasons doing color prior to taking over the play-by-play duties during the 1997-98 season.

Scouting Midwestern State
The Mustangs are 5-3 overall and had their first Lone Star Conference game of the season postponed due to weather back on Dec. 5. The last outing for MSU was Dec. 1 when they earned an 84-74 win over Ouachita Baptist.
The Mustangs have had close games with their opponents, with a +2.5 scoring and a -1.7 rebounding margin for the season. MSU does have strong shooting from the floor, going .454 this season and allowing a .433 mark from the opposition. The Mustangs have also had a better second stanza. Scoring 59 more points and allowing just 31 more.
MSU has just two players averaging double-digit point totals this season and two more between eight and nine points. Andrea Carter leads the team with 14.9 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, while shooting .489 (43-of-88) from the field. Dianna Jones is the other player with more than 10 points per game. Jones has garnered 11.5 points per game, a .540 overall shooting percentage, .583 mark from beyond the arc and 35 assists.
Against the Mustangs
The last meeting between ECU and MSU was Nov. 22, 2011 when the Mustangs earned an 87-94 overtime win at the Kerr Activities Center.
Taylor Fischer led the returning Lady Tigers with 15 points and three boards, while
Dilan Webster added 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Kristi Degelia and Dianna Jones are the top returners for the Mustangs. Degelia garnered 22 points, while Jones added 16.
The Series
After the Mustangs have won the last two games in the all-time series, they have increased their advantage to 15-7. When played in Wichita Falls, Texas the series stands at 10-1, in favor of the MSU.
Tiger Toy Drive
The ECU athletic department will be holding a Tiger Toy Drive in partnership with Mercy Hospital- Ada. The Tiger athletic department will be collecting new unwrapped toys, coloring books and crayons at the Tuesday, Dec. 17 women's basketball game against Mid-America Christian. Those in attendance can replace the cost of admission for a new toy. All toys collected will be donated to the Mercy Hospital-Ada Pediatrics Ward.
Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest
During the Dec. 17 game there will also be an Ugly Sweater Contest, with an Ugly Sweater Parade at halftime. The winner will receive a gift certificate to Rage.
Winning Start
The Lady Tigers started 4-0, marking the third time ECU has started 4-0. The last time was 1989-90. The Lady Tigers have started a season 4-0 twice (1989-90/1987-88), 5-0 in 2001-02 and 7-0 twice (1995-96/1984-85).
Sharing The Rock
Like a year ago, the Lady Tigers are not afraid to share the spotlight. All 10 players have scored this season, with four averaging double-digit point totals. All 10 have also recorded at least one rebound and one assist.
Alex Assisting
Senior
Alex Tucker had a strong all-around game against St. Gregory's (Nov. 12). The McAlester, Okla., native tallied 11 points and then dished out eight passes and added four steals against the Cavaliers. Tuckers also added 10 assists against Southwestern Christian.
Home Sweet Home
The Kerr Activities Center was very busy in November, with the Lady Tigers hosting the first five games of the season at home. This marks the first time since 1984-85 that ECU has played five-straight home games to start a season. That season, the Lady Tigers went 7-0 to start, while ECU is already 3-0 in 2013-14.
Lady Tigers Picked Fourth in the GAC
After finishing fifth in the Great American Conference standings in 2012-13, ECU has been picked to finish fourth in the 2013-14 GAC Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
The Lady Tigers earned 69 points in the poll. ECU improved by 11 wins in 2012-13 in going 19-9. Second-Team All-GAC forward
Dilan Webster averaged 14.0 points and 7.3 rebounds in league games last season.
Ashley Robison and
Alycea Price also averaged at least 7.0 rebounds per game in GAC games.
