The Lady Tigers (9-5, 4-4 GAC) saw double-digit point performances form four players and the third-straight double-digit rebounding performance from redshirt freshman Jalyn Jackson, with 17.  Junior Erin Walling led ECU with 15 points and added nine rebounds and four assists.  Seniors Alycea Price and Ashley Robison each added 12 points and junior Janee Garza tallied 11.

The first half started with a 4-0 Lady Tiger run in the first two minutes, but then turned into a tight battle for control of the scoreboard.  The teams fought through three ties and eight lead changes in the opening 20 minutes, with ECU holding a small 33-32 lead at the half.

The second half started out much like the first, with ECU going on a 10-5 run in the first seven minutes of action.  The Lady Tigers were leading 47-39, with 12:19 left, when a Lady Bulldogs (6-6, 3-3 GAC) 3-0 run cut the deficit to five over the next two minutes.

ECU then countered with a 5-0 run over the next minute to push the lead to double digits for the first time in the game.  SWOSU kept fighting and was able to cut the disadvantage to six, with just over seven minutes left, but the Lady Tigers kept the pressure up and earned the 73-63 win.

ECU had a strong defensive day, holding the Lady Bulldogs 23 points under their season average of 86.4 and to a 30.8 (20-of-65) overall shooting percentage.  More importantly, the Lady Tigers held SWOSU to just four triples, as they were averaging 10.3 made per game.

ECU shot 36.5 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc and held a key rebounding advantage of 59-41.  The difference came on the offensive side, where the Lady Tigers held a 19-9 lead and scored 11 second-chance points to SWOSU's two.

ECU will remain at home for a third-straight home game, Thursday, Jan. 16 when they host Southern Nazarene at the Kerr Activities Center at 5:30 p.m.
