ADA – The East Central University volleyball fell 0-3 (23-25, 17-25, 20-25) to Cameron in non-conference action at the Kerr Activities Center.

ECU had a strong showing on defense at the net, tallying 9.0 total blocks to 1.0 by the Aggies (9-8). The Tigers also had a 6-1 lead in service aces.
The first set started out slow for ECU, as they fell behind 0-4. Cameron had extended the lead to 1-7, but the Tigers countered with a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to one (8-9). The teams traded serves for most of the set, but the Aggies used several small runs throughout the set to increase the lead to 20-24. ECU held off three set points, but ended up falling 23-35.
The second set was a battle from the start with ties from two to seven. That is when the Aggies took control and used a 6-0 run to take a 7-12 advantage. ECU kept fighting through the set but fell 17-25.
The third set started out close again, but Cameron went on a 6-0 run to take a 2-8 lead. The Tigers tried several times throughout the set to get the scoreboard in their favor and were able to cut the deficit to one with a 9-2 run (19-20). However, the Aggies countered with a 4-0 run and eventually took the set 20-25.
The Tigers will continue their home stand, Thursday, Oct. 9 when the face arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. in the Kerr Activities Center. The match is the annual Blackout Match so fans are encouraged to wear black to support the Tigers.
