Box Score ADA – The East Central University baseball team fell 7-8 in 11 innings in non-conference action to Oklahoma Christian at Tiger Field.

The Tigers (20-14) had four players with two hits each, with juniors Bryce McKee and David Terrazas each garnering two hits, one run and one RBI.  Senior Ethan Gold added two hits and two RBIs.

ECU used a total of five pitchers, with junior Merrick Ardoin suffering the loss after throwing the last three innings.  Ardoin allowed two hits and one run, while striking out four batters.

The Tigers came out ready to play, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning for the early advantage.  Senior Josh Lavender led off the game with a single to short and was advanced to second with a sacrifice bunt.  Junior Nick Spini earned the first RBI with a single up the middle and advanced to second on the throw home and third on a wild pitch.

McKee earned his first RBI with a double down the right field line and Terrazas added the third run with a single up the middle.  The final run of the inning was scored when Gold singled.
The Eagles (19-10) cut into the lead with one run in the top of the third for a 4-1 score.

ECU regained the run in the bottom of the fourth.  Junior Luc Pomales reached on an error and after two outs was advanced to third.  Junior Ty Huie was added to the base path by being hit by a pitch, which allowed for the Tiger to pull off the double steal for a 5-1 lead.

OC came out swinging in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs to take a 5-6 lead.  The Eagles then added a run in the sixth for a 5-7 advantage.

ECU started its come back in the seventh, scoring one run.  The bases were loaded when Huie singled, Lavender walked and junior Casey Chenoweth singled.  That allowed Spini to earn an RBI with a sacrifice fly to left and cut the disadvantage to one, 6-7.

The Tigers then tied the game in the bottom of the eight.  Terrazas singled and junior Gavan Susca was sent into run.  Susca was advanced when Pomales hit a sacrifice bunt and Gold earned the RBI with a single to right center to knot the game at seven.

That is where the score stayed until the top of the 11^th, when the Eagles scored a run to take a 7-8 lead. 

ECU had a good chance to score in the 10^th and the 11^th when they loaded the bases in each inning.  However, the Tigers were unable to get the needed run across the plate and fell 7-8.

ECU will continue their nine-game home stand, April 4-5 when they host Southern Arkansas for a three-game Great American Conference series at Tiger Field.  A single game is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, April 4 and a double-header is slated to start at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5.
