Box Score DURANT, OKLA. – The 2014 East Central University baseball team fell 7-10 to Southeastern Oklahoma State, just missing earning a spot in the 2014 Great American Conference Tournament.
Box ScoreDespite the way the season ended, the Tigers made great strides in 2014. ECU finished the season 26-23 overall and 14-16 in the GAC, 15 more wins than the 2013 season (11-33, 5-25 GAC).
"I am very proud of the effort that we saw from every player on the team this season," said head coach
Dino Rosato. "Even though we fell short of our goals we still had a fine season none-the-less. I am proud of how the team came together this season and especially proud of the senior class. These five seniors have faced a lot of adversity, but they are all on track to graduate and that is the most important award for any student-athlete."
The game was the final in an orange and black uniform for seniors

Junior
Luc Pomales led the team with three hits, two runs and two RBIs. Junior
Andrew Ayrado added two hits and three RBIs, adding to his team-best .421 batting average for the year.
Senior
Robert Buitrago earned the start, throwing the first 3.1 innings. Buitrago allowed four hits and struck out four. Junior
Oscar Gomez threw three innings striking out three and suffering the loss.
Senior
Josh Lavender started the game by drawing a walk and was advanced to second on a pass ball and third on a wild pitch. Junior
David Terrazas was added to the base path with a walk and Pomales sent Lavender home with a single through the left side.
The Savage Storm came out fighting in the bottom of the first scoring five runs for a 1-5 advantage.
ECU added a run in the top of the fourth on singles from Pomales and junior
Casey Chenoweth. The run then scored when Ayrado grounded out.
SEOSU responded with two runs of their own in the fourth for a 2-7 lead.
The Tigers tied the game at seven in the top of the fifth with five runs. After the first out junior
Nick Spini was walked and Terrazas singled up the middle to put runners on the corners. Pomales earned his second RBI with a single to left and the bases were loaded on a single from senior
Ethan Gold.
Chenoweth drew a walk to score the second run and Ayrado hit a single through the left side that scored two. Junior
Ty Huie loaded the bases again with a bunt single, which allowed the final run to score on a wild pitch.
The Savage Storm then added a run in the sixth and two in the sixth for a 7-10 lead.
The Tigers had a chance to score in the seventh with runners on second and third, but had two outs and were unable to get the run home and fell 7-10.
