ECU had a well balanced attack in the match, with three players recording eight kills and two hitting over .400.  Sophomore Taylor Tuner tallied her 10th double-double of the year with 28 assists and 11 digs, while adding a .667 (6k-0e-9ta) hitting percentage and three service aces.  Sophomores Madyson Gill, Madeline Mayer and Alex Campbell all garnered eight kills.

In the opening set the Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 advantage and were leading 5-1 before the Evangels (15-14) mounted a come-back and tied the set at five. The teams traded the next two serves, but then ECU jumped ahead again, with a 7-0 run and a 13-6 advantage.

MACU again fought back and used a 6-0 run of its own to get within one (16-15).  However, the Tigers followed with a 3-1 run and kept the needed momentum in their favor for the 25-19 win.

The second set was close through the first five serves, but then ECU used a 10-0 run to push ahead for good.  While the Evangels used a few small runs in the set, they eventually fell 25-17.

The third set was a back-and-forth battle, with MACU talking the early 3-9 advantage.  ECU battled back with a 6-0 run to take an 11-10 lead, but it was kept close until the Evangels used a 4-0 run to push ahead 15-18.

MACU kept pushing the tempo and it looked like they would win the set, as they got up 16-23.  But ECU had other plans and fought back with a 6-0 run to get within one (22-23).  The set them became tied at 24 and forced into extra points.  The Tigers kept the pressure on and Mayer ended the match for ECU with two-straight kills and the 27-25 win.

The Tigers will wrap up the 2015 season, Thursday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. when they host arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State.  The match is the annual Blackout the Power of the Storm match, with fans encouraged to wear black in support of ECU.

It will also be the annual Senior Day, where the Tigers will honor seniors Hayley Gerken and Sarah Simpson before the start of the match.
