The East Central University women's basketball team will open the 2015-16 season in Lawton, Okla., when they face Cameron, Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at Aggie Gym.
Game NotesThe BroadcastECU's radio home for Tigers basketball in 2015-16 is Ada's KXFC, 105.5, FM 'The X-Factor'. Kenny Morrison returns to broadcast the games for his 19th season. Morrison, a 1987 ECU graduate, spent two seasons doing color prior to taking over the play-by-play duties during the 1997-98 season. Â

Scouting CameronThe Aggies went 15-12 overall last season, but finished 12-4 in the Lone Star Conference and advanced to the NCAA South Regional, where they lost in the first round to West Texas A&M. Cameron played five different teams from the Great American Conference in 2015-16 and went 3-3 against them. The Aggies went 1-1 with Harding, lost to ECU and Southwestern and defeated Southeastern and Northwestern.
Cameron will open their season on Friday, Nov. 13 when they host Harding. When they start the year they will have 10 returners, including three starters, and will have lost just four players (two starters).
Brandi Leal is the top returning scorer for the Aggies, with 12.7 points per game. Leal also added 1.8 boards a .378 overall shooting percentage and a .374 mark from beyond the arc, where she attempted 46% of the team's triples for the season. Charron Montgomery is also a key returner, with 7.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, while shooting .431 from the field.
Against the AggiesIn 2014-15, the Tigers traveled to Lawton, Okla., and came home with a 90-81 win. While the Tigers lost the top three scorers in the game, sophomore
Kendal Rogers tallied seven points, two rebounds and two assists. Sophomore
Alexa Adair also contributed six points, thee boards and three assists.
The Aggies lost a few key scorers from the outing as well, but DJ Vallier returns after garnering 11 points and 11 rebounds. Brandi Leal added nine points and Charron Montgomery seven points and five assists.
The SeriesThe all-time series with Cameron is currently knotted at 22 games each, but ECU holds a slight 16-15 lead since joining the NCAA. While the Tigers have won the last two outings, Cameron still holds an 8-15 lead when playing in Lawton.
Rebuilding SeasonAfter losing five seniors to graduation, the Tigers are in a rebuilding year and have been picked to finish 10th in the 2015-16 GAC Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Arkansas Tech was picked to finish first and Harding second. Southwestern was third, Arkansas-Monticello fourth, Southeastern fifth, Henderson State sixth, Ouachita Baptist seventh, Northwestern eighth and Oklahoma Baptist ninth. The two teams below ECU were Southern Arkansas (11th) and Southern Nazarene (12th).
Playing Against Strong CompetitionWhile Saturday's game will be the first official game of the year, the Tigers played an exhibition game against Oklahoma State. ECU fell 49-122, but the Cowgirls shot an unusually high 73.9 percent from the field and 84.6 from beyond the arc.

Alexa Adair who tallied 14 points, while junior
Tori Huff added nine and junior
Whitney Stotler eight.
Season Tickets AvailableThe ECU athletic department has announced that they will start selling season basketball tickets for the 2015-16 season. The department will have both an individual pass and a family pass available for purchase.
The individual pass will allow the bearer into all 11 GAC double-headers and into all single men's and women's regular-season games during the 2015-16 season. The cost is $60, with a $28 savings.
The family pass is for two adults and up to five children (18 & under) to have general admission seats, with a cost of $125 and a $51 savings.
All seating at the Kerr Activities Center is general admission. Single game ticket prices are $8. Children under 12, seniors over 65, ECU students, ECU Faculty & Staff (with valid ID) and those with military IDs receive free admission.
Up NextThe Tigers will jump right into the GAC schedule for their next outings, facing Southern Arkansas Nov. 19 and Arkansas-Monticello Nov. 21 at the Kerr Activities Center. Thursday's game is set for 5:30 p.m. and Saturday's at 1 p.m.
