The Tigers (10-3, 6-0 GAC) earned the win on pitching from seniors Oscar Gomez and Merrick Ardoin.  Gomez earned the win after eight innings of work, allowing three hits and one run and striking out five.  Ardoin picked up his fifth save of the season with one strikeout in the final inning of the game.

Seniors Nick Spini and Luc Pomales had strong days at the plate, with both hitting .667 on two hits and one run scored for the day.

Both team's defense held strong through the first five innings of action for a 0-0 score.  The Rangers (6-7, 1-5 GAC) were then able to plate the first run of the game in the top of the sixth inning for the 0-1 lead.

The Tigers would be held scoreless until the bottom of the seventh when they tied the game at one.  Spini started the inning with a single and was joined on base by senior Garrett Donohoe who drew a walk.  That allowed senior Cale Russell to earn the RBI when he doubled.

ECU added the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.  After the first out, Pomales was hit by a pitch, Spini singled and senior Bryce McKee was walked to load the bases.  The game-winning RBI then went to Donohoe, who hit a sacrifice fly to right field.

The Tigers will now get ready for a non-conference game against Oklahoma City, Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at Ken Turner Field.
