The Tigers (5-7, 2-2 GAC) were paced by senior Samantha McGraw for the day, with a .600 average on three hits.  Junior Jordynn VanPelt added a game-winning home run, while senior Peyton Watson earned the game-winning hit in the opening game of the day.

Sophomore Sydney Dow threw a complete game in the opener, allowing four hits and one run while striking out three.  Senior Briana Nunley earned a shutout win in the second game, allowing just three hits and striking out three.
ECU will return to the road next weekend for a four-game GAC series at Arkansas Tech, Feb. 27-28 in Russellville, Ark.

Game 1 – ECU 1, HSU 0 (8)
After both teams had chances to score during the regularly scheduled seven innings of the opening game of the day, the Tigers were the first to earn a run and the win in the bottom of the eighth.

After the first out of the inning, junior Autumn Suydam and McGraw both singled to put a runner in scoring position.  Watson made the most of her opportunity hitting a single to left field that sent Suydam home for the win.

Game 2 – ECU 2, HSU 1 (8)
The teams battled through two scoreless innings in the final game of the day before the Reddies (11-5, 2-2 GAC) claimed their first run of the day in the top of the third.

The Tigers responded in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at one.  Junior Taylor Davis reached due to an error and was sent home when senior Lacey Williams-Wenholm doubled to right field.

The game remained knotted at one through regulation and into the bottom of the eighth.  That is when VanPelt sent a ball over the fence for a walk-off home run and a 2-1 final.
