Box Score 4 FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS – The East Central University baseball team had a strong weekend at the Dallas Christian Tournament, going 3-1.
The Tigers (4-2) first defeated 
Hannibal-LaGrange, 1-0, and then fell to
 Tabor College, 0-6, Friday, Feb. 6.  The next day, ECU earned two wins, with a 20-0 four-inning win over 
Dallas Christian and then a 1-0 win over 
Midland (Neb.).
The Tigers were led by senior 
Nick Spini at the plate, with two runs, four hits, three doubles and four RBIs.  Senior 
Dustin Torres added a.364 batting average, with four hits and an RBI.  ECU had a total of five players with multiple hits in the games and six more with one tally.
On the mound, the Tigers saw wins from senior 
Oscar Gomez, senior 
Cam McKay and senior 
Lucas Kaplan.  Gomez and Kaplan threw complete games and earned shutouts.  Gomez allowed three this and struck out nine batters, while Kaplan allowed just one hit and struck out four.
ECU will now head home to play the first game of the season at Ken Turner Field, Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. when Oklahoma Baptist comes to town.
