DURANT, OKLA. – The East Central University volleyball team dropped a 0-3 (16-25, 13-25, 17-25) decision to Southeastern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference action.
The Tigers (3-8, 0-2 GAC) were led by sophomore
Madyson Gill, with eight kills and five digs. Sophomore
Madeline Mayer added a .250 (4k-1e-12ta) hitting percentage and sophomore
Lily Porsa tallied nine kills.
The first set as close at the beginning, before the Savage Storm (3-10, 1-2 GAC) made a push to expand their lead out to as many as 10. SEOSU used several small runs to push out to an 11-21 advantage and then traded points in the final serves before earning the 16-25 win.
The second set again saw a back-and-forth battle through the first 12 serves to leave the set tied at six. However, the Savage Storm then used a 14-3 run to take control of the set and eventually earn the 13-25 win.
In the final set, ECU fell behind early and was never able to even out the set. The Tigers trailed by three to seven points for most of the set before falling 17-25.
ECU will wrap up their three-game road trip Saturday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. at Texas Woman's.
