ADA – The East Central University women's basketball team earned their second-straight win, with a 48-43 come-from-behind victory over arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference at the Kerr Activities Center.

The Tigers (4-5, 4-9 GAC) were paced by junior Jalyn Jackson who tallied her first career double-double with a career-high 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Sophomore Alexa Adair led ECU with 17 points, while adding six rebounds and two assists.

The opening quarter was a tight battle through the first five minutes, with the Tigers holding a 7-6 advantage, with 4:32 left.  That is when the Savage Storm (4-11, 2-7 GAC) made a push and used a 6-0 run in the remaining time to take a 7-12 lead.

The second quarter was a defensive battle all the way, with both teams combining to score just seven points.  ECU was the only team to record a field goal in the stanza, but went into the intermission trailing 11-15.

The Tigers came out of the locker room ready to fight and cut the deficit to one (18-19) in the first 2:30, on a 7-4 run.  SE countered with a 5-0 run over the next minute and kept up the pressure through the rest of the stanza for a 22-29 lead.

The Savage Storm continued their run from the third quarter in the fourth and finished with a 10-2 run to push the lead out to 12 (22-34), with 6:45 remaining.  However, that is when ECU found another gear and went on a 13-2 run, until was 2:05 left, to cut the lead to one (37-38).

SE hit a three to regain a four-point advantage, but a triple by Adair gave the Tigers their first lead since the first quarter, with 1:12 remaining.  The Savage Storm sank two free throws with 52 seconds left, but that was all they would get the rest of the game, as a triple from sophomore Tori Huff with 42 seconds left started a 6-0 run to end the game with a 48-43 victory.

The box score was pretty even between the teams, with the biggest advantage for ECU coming with 21 points off of SE's 22 turnovers, while the Savage Storm only collected two off the Tigers 13 turnovers.

ECU will now get a few days off before hosting Southern Nazarene, Thursday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Kerr Activities Center.
