ADA – The East Central University women's basketball team won its third-straight game, with a 54-50 Great American Conference decision over Southern Nazarene at the Kerr Activities Center.

Alexa Adair led the team with 15 points.
The Crimson Storm (4-9, 3-7 GAC) started the game on a 4-0 run, but ECU quickly got close and were trailing by two (5-7) after the first four minutes. SNU then took control of the rest of the quarter and went on a 10-0 run for a 5-17 lead.
The Tigers kept fighting in the second quarter using a few runs, including an 11-4 run in the final three minutes to cut the deficit back to three (22-25). However, SNU went into the locker room with a 22-27 advantage.
The third quarter saw ECU come out ready to battle, as they used a 7-2 run in the first three minutes to force a tie at 29. The teams traded the next two baskets before the Tigers used an 8-2 run, over the final 5:30 of the quarter, to lead 39-33.
The fourth quarter was close all the way through, with ECU holding a one to three-point advantage most of the way. The Crimson Storm did not go away quietly, using a 7-2 run over a three minute span in the middle of the stanza to force a tie at 45.
The teams then traded runs to see the Tigers leading 52-50, with 21 seconds remaining. ECU scored the final four points of the game to take the 54-50 victory.
The game difference came at the charity stripe, where the Tigers went 17-of-26 and held SNU to just an 8-of-15 mark.
The Tigers will now hit the road for a three-game road trip starting with a stop in Alva, Okla., to battle with Northwestern Oklahoma State, Saturday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. This is the final team from the GAC that ECU has yet to face this season, with the second half of the year starting next week.
