FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – The East Central University men's cross country team finished seventh, of 45 NCAA Division II teams, at the 2016 Chile Pepper Festival.

The Tigers finished with 221 points and were the top team from the Great American Conference in the field. Harding came in 10
th, Southern Arkansas 14
th, Southern Nazarene 23
rd, and Northwestern 43
rd.
ECU was paced by senior
Richard Mora, who finished 24
th individually in 24:59.06, in his first race of the season for the Tigers. Redshirt junior
Kevin Matthews was close behind in 27
th (25:07.34).
