Soccer Falls to League-Leading Southwestern

ADA – The East Central University soccer team dropped a 1-3 decision to Southwestern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference action at Tiger Field.

The Tigers (2-9-1, 2-5 GAC) netted eight shots on goal to five by the Bulldogs (10-2-1, 7-1 GAC) and added seven blocks on SWOSU shots.

Junior Deanna Rudasill got the scoring started, with a goal at 27:23.  She was set up at the top of the box on passes from sophomore Summer Whalen and senior Lexie Devore.

The Tigers held the lead until to 40:16 mark when the Bulldogs were able to tie the game.  The teams then battled through the rest of the period to into intermission tied at one.

Things remained tied until the 64 minute mark, when SWOSU sent in the eventual match-winning goal.  The Bulldogs then added a second goal at 81:55 to earn the 1-3 final.

The Tigers will not get ready to host Northwestern Oklahoma State, Saturday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. for the annual Senior Day.  ECU will honor seniors, Kylee Corbin, Lexie DeVore, Elizabeth Dodd, Kylee Harper, Taylor Kennedy and Lexi Hurley.
