Soccer Claims Shutout Win Over Northwestern on Senior Day

ADA – The East Central University soccer team picked up a 1-0 shutout win over Northwestern Oklahoma State at Tiger Field on the annual Senior Day.  The Tigers (3-9-1, 3-5 GAC) were honoring seniors Kylee Corbin, Lexie DeVore, Elizabeth Dodd, Kylee Harper, Lexi Hurley and Taylor Kennedy.

The lone goal of the match came from junior Deanna Rudasill, who also led the team with five shots and three shots on goal.  Senior Lexi Hurley earned her second career win and first shutout with six saves.

ECU had a strong offensive and defensive day, earning a 21-15 lead in shots and blocked three Ranger (0-14, 0-8 GAC).

Rudasill tallied the goal for the Tigers at 35:13 in the first half. ?? Alexis Castillo sent a shot down the left side of the field from the center line to Rudasill who dribbled in one goal and sent it in the right corner.

NWOSU never quit fighting and had several strong chances to score in the second half, but the ECU defense held strong to earn the 1-0 victory.

The Tigers will now get ready for their final home match of the season, which will end a five-match home stand, Thursday, Oct. 20 against Southern Nazarene at 1 p.m.
