SHAWNEE, OKLA. – The East Central University volleyball team fell in straight sets (19-25, 17-25, 22-25) to Oklahoma Baptist in Great American Conference action.
The Tigers (7-19, 3-9 GAC) were led by junior 
Alex Campbell, with nine kills and two blocks.  Junior 
Mackenzie Davis added six kills and three block assists.  Junior 
Lily Porsa led ECU defensively with 17 digs.
The Tigers fell behind early in set one (2-10), but didn't quit and used an 8-1 run to cut the deficit to two (14-16).  However, the Bison (15-11, 9-3 GAC) countered with a 5-1 run to push the lead back out to six and pushed through for the 19-25 win.
ECU took the early lead (5-1) in the second set.  This time it was OBU that was forced to fight back, which they did by tying the set at 11 and then taking an 11-13 lead.  The Tigers kept pushing and tied the set again at 15 and 16, but the Bison used a 9-1 run to take the set 17-25.
ECU again fell behind at the start of set three, but didn't let the deficit get larger than four to six points until late in the set.  The largest advantage for OBU was eight points (16-24), but the Tigers kept fights and held off match point for six serves before falling 22-25.
The Tigers will now head home for the final match at the Kerr Activities Center for the 2016 season, Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.  The match is the annual Senior Day, where ECU will honor seniors
