ADA – The East Central University baseball team will hit the road for the first time during the Great American Conference portion of the season when they travel to Alva, Okla., Feb. 26-27 to face Northwestern Oklahoma State.  A single game is set for Friday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. and a double-header in on the slate for Saturday, Feb. 27 starting at noon.

The Tigers are coming off their opening weekend of GAC action where they went 1-2 against Southwestern at Ken Turner Field.  Junior Riley Roberts led ECU at the plate with a .400 batting average, two runs, four hits, one home run and five RBIs. 

Sophomore Kyle Britt picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers.  Britt threw 5.0 innings, allowed five hits and six runs, while striking out four.

The Rangers (4-7, 2-1 GAC) took two wins from Southeastern Oklahoma State last weekend on the road.  NWOSU has a .214 batting average, but is allowing its opponents to hit just .241 for the year.

Steven Deckard is the top producer at the plate, with a .364 batting average, three runs, eight hits and two RBIs.  Xyruse Martinez adds three runs, 10 hits and three RBIs. 

The Rangers have had 17 different pitchers on the mound this season, with Walker Wharton seeing the most action.  Wharton has thrown 18.2 innings, allowing 16 hits and two runs.  He has a 2-1 record, 0.96 ERA and has struck out 15.  Robert Lawton adds 14.0 innings of work, with a1-2 record, 21 hits and 13 runs allowed and 17Ks.

The Tigers currently hold a 12-6 lead in the all-time series with NWOSU, dating back to 2010.  ECU picked up three wins in 2015 at home and is now 6-2 when playing at Ken Turner Field.
