JOPLIN, MO. – The East Central University men's cross country team finished third, out of 18 teams at the 2016 Missouri Southern Stampede.

The Tigers, who are ranked No. 15 in the nation and No. 2 in the Central Region, finished with 139 points and were the top team from the Great American Conference at the meet. ECU finished above Southern Arkansas (12
th) and Southern Nazarene (15
th).
Senior
Bruce Bragg was the first Tiger to cross the line, finished 23
rd in 25:41.12. Sophomore
Larry Filer, redshirt junior
Kevin Matthews, and sophomore
Cole Montgomery were right on his heels, finishing 24
th to 26
th.
Filer finished the 8K run in 25:41.82, Matthews 25:42.36 and Montgomery in 25:52.36. The final runner to count in the team points was freshman
Cameron Corbin in 49
th (26:25.19).

The Tigers will now get ready for the Cowboy Jamboree, Saturday, Sept. 24 hosted by Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.
