The opening set saw UCO jumped out to a 1-4, but the Tigers countered and cut the lead to one (4-5).  However, the Bronchos went on a 7-1 run to take control of the set.  The teams traded points and runs the rest of the way before UCO claimed the 16-25 win.

The second set was much closer, with seven tie scores and five lead changes in the opening14 points.  However, after a six-all tie, the Bronchos went on a 6-0 run that gave them the needed edge to push through for an 18-25 win.

The final set was close from start to finish, as the Tigers pushed out to an early 7-3 lead.  However, UCO kept fighting and eventually tied the set at 15, starting a back-and-forth battle for control of the scoreboard for the next 16 serves.  ECU was leading 23-20, but the Bronchos used a 5-0 run to change the momentum and claim the 23-25 win.

Both teams fought hard in the opening set, with 10 tie scores and six lead changes.  While the Tigers took the early 10-7 advantage, the Gorillas tied the set at 11 and the teams battled through until a 20-all tie.  That is when Pitt State went on a 5-1 run to claim the 21-25 win.

ECU took an early 6-3 lead in the second set before the Gorillas started to fight back, but the Tigers kept the score in their favor until late in the set.  After trading runs and points, ECU held the advantage but a 7-1 run by Pitt State gave them the win 19-25.

The third set was a battle from the start to the finish, with 12 tie scores and six lead changes before a winner could be determined.  The Tigers were trailing, 18-20, but came firing back and used a 4-2 run to take a 22-20 lead.  The teams then traded serves to the end, with ECU earning the 25-22 win.

The Tigers came roaring out of the gates in set four, taking a 6-0 lead.  ECU didn't allow the Gorillas to score more than two or three points in a row through most of the set and despite being held from set points for five serves, claimed the 25-21 win to force set five.

The fifth set started with a see-saw battle in the first eight serves before Pitt State went on a 4-0 run to take the needed advantage (4-7).  The Gorillas held onto the lead and increased it to five (9-14).  While the Tigers were able to hold of four set points, they eventually fell 13-15.
