ADA – The East Central University soccer team ended a hard fought match with Oklahoma Baptist falling 2-3 in Great American Conference action at Tiger Field.

The Tigers (1-6-1, 1-2 GAC) were led by sophomore
Kendall Cook and junior
Deanna Rudasill, who each tallied a goal, an assist and two shots on goal. Senior
Lexi Hurley added eight saves.
The Bison (5-3, 2-2 GAC) started the scoring at 9:38 in the first half, but ECU scored less than a minute later, at 10:33.
The Tigers goal come from Cook, as she put the ball in the lower left corner after a save rebounded out from the goalie on a shot from Rudasill.
OBU regained the lead at 34:31 on a goal that deflected off the referee out front.
ECU responded three minutes later (37:18), when Rudasill took a long pass from Cook at center field to have a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The shot went in over her head and tied the game at two.
The second half was almost all played in the Bison offensive zone, but the Tigers held off a goal until 87:43. The rebound shot gave OBU the 2-3 lead and they kept possession of the ball for most of the remaining time to earn the win.
ECU will now hit the road for a conference match at Southern Nazarene, Saturday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. in Bethany, Okla.
