CLAREMORE, OKLA. – The East Central University soccer team fell 0-3 to Rogers State in the second match of the 2016 season.

The Tigers (0-2) were paced by sophomore
Kendall Smith and senior
Taylor Kennedy. Smith tallied four shots, while Kennedy added three. Sophomore
Chloe Hull stopped five shots in 90 minutes of play as the goalkeeper.
The Hillcats (2-0) got on the scoreboard at the 16:04 mark of the first half on a chip over the head of Hull about 10 yards out.
ECU had several changes during the first half to tie the score, with eight total shots and four finding the net, while holding RSU to just two other shots on goal.
The Tigers kept up the pressure in the second half garnering one shot on goal and having four blocked by the defense.
While most of the action was down in the ECU scoring zone for the start of the second half, the Hillcats added to the lead with a goal on a free kick at 79:38 and then again at 81:22.
ECU will return to action, Tuesday, Sept. 6 at Tiger Field when they host Newman at 4 p.m. The match is the final non-conference home match of the 2016 season, with just two other non-conference tilts on the schedule over the next two weeks.
