Soccer Battles Through Double-Overtime Tie with Oklahoma Baptist

ADA – The East Central University soccer team drew a 0-0 double-overtime tie with Great American Conference leader, Oklahoma Baptist at Tiger Field.

The Tigers (5-5-4, 2-2-4 GAC) were out-shot 36-10, with the Bison (13-1-2, 8-0-2 GAC) earning 14 shots on goal to six by ECU.  OBU increased the pressure as the match went on recording two shots on goal in the first half, seven in the second and five in the first overtime.

The Tigers were strong on the defensive side of the match, blocking nine shots by the Bison.

Junior Chloe Hull earned her fourth shutout of the season with her 14 saves, while junior Kendall Cook led the offense with two shots on goal.

ECU will next face their final regular-season road match of the 2017 season, traveling to face Southern Nazarene, Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m.  The match time was moved up due to inclement weather expected in the area later in the day.
