Historic Day for Men’s Basketball Victory over Dallas Christian

ADA – For the second-consecutive day, the East Central University men's basketball team scored over 100 points, earning a 128-82 victory over Dallas Christian.  The 128 points scored by the Tigers (5-2) are the second most in a single game for ECU, with the highest being 141 scored in the 1964-65 season against Tinker Field (W, 141-116).

All nine of the Tiger players that saw action scored at least four points, with seven earning double digits.  Junior Da'Rion King earned his third double-double, with 10 points and 11 rebounds while adding three assists, a steal and a 1.000 (4-of-4) field goal percentage.

ECU was led by sophomore Camron Talley, with 25 points, while junior Marcus Lytle and senior Jeremiah Fleming each netted 20, junior Jamey Woods tallied 17 points and senior Brett Cannon 14 and junior Gabe McKenzie 10.  McKenzie also tallied his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers started the game on a 7-0 run and didn't allow the Crusaders (7-5) to score until three minutes had passes.  However, DCC followed with a 6-0 run to start a back-and-forth battle for the next 11 minutes.  The teams traded runs until the final eight minutes, with the Crusaders leading 32-26.

That is when ECU hit the gas, going on a 32-6 run in the final minutes of the half for a 58-38 lead heading into the locker room.

The Tigers never let up in the second half, pushing the lead out to 30 after the first eight minutes.  The lead got over 40 in the next three minutes.  The largest lead was after the final shot, with a 46-point advantage for ECU and the win, 128-82.

The Tigers will now be idle until Saturday, December 30 when they travel to face Cameron at 3 p.m.
