ADA – The East Central University baseball team will make the trip to Weatherford, Okla., for a three-game Great American Conference series with Southwestern Oklahoma State, March 3-4. The teams will play a single game, Friday, March 3 at 2 p.m. and a double-header is set for Saturday, March 4 at 12 p.m.
The Tigers (3-10, 3-3 GAC) are coming off a weekend at Southern Arkansas, where ECU went 1-2, handing the Muleriders their first conference loss of the season. Senior
Jake MeKeel hit .400 for the series, with two hits, a run and an RBI. Senior
Trevor Huie added three hits, two runs, two double and a triple.

Brandon Dusenberry picked up the win on the mound last weekend, with a complete game, seven hits and two runs allowed and five strikeouts to his credit.
For the season, the Bulldogs (6-8, 2-4 GAC) are hitting .237 as a team and allowing a .323. Jason Nichols is the leader at the plate, with a .373 average, 12 runs, 19 hits, four doubles, a triple and nine RBIs.
SWOSU has 13 pitchers on the staff, with four throwing over 15 innings this season. Brendan Peitsmeyer leads the team with a 2-2 record, four appearances, 20.2 innings of work, 34 hits, 15 runs and eight Ks.
The teams have met on 68 previous occasions since 1999, with the Bulldogs holding a slight advantage in the series (33-35). While the Tigers fell 1-2 in the series in 2016 (at home), ECU swept SWOSU (3-0) in the last meeting in Weatherford, Okla. (2015). When playing on the road, the Tigers are even in the series, at 17-17.
