ADA, OKLA. – The East Central University baseball team will head into Spring Break with a three-game Great American Conference series against Northwestern Oklahoma State, March 10-11 at Ken Turner Field. The Tigers will remain at home through the week, including a non-conference game against Bacone, Tuesday, March 14 (2 p.m.).
The series with the Rangers will start Friday, March 10 with a double-header starting at 12 p.m. A single game is then set to start at noon, Saturday, March 12.
ECU went 1-2 last weekend in a GAC road series at Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Tigers were paced by senior
Jake MeKeel, who hit .583, with seven hits, five runs, five double a home run and seven RBIs. Junior
Connor Stevenson added a .44 mark, with four hits, while freshman
Grant Powell hit .429 with three hits in the series.

Brandon Dusenberry earned the win on the mound, through a complete game (7.0 innings) in the series finale, allowing six hits and three runs and striking out eight. Senior
Dylan Sanchez suffered a loss in the series, but struck out eight in six innings of work.
NWOSU has a 7-13 overall record on the year and a 2-7 mark in the league after going 1-2 against Southeastern last weekend. The Rangers rebounded during the week with a 7-6 win over Oklahoma Panhandle.
The Rangers are hitting .222 as a team in 2017 and allowing a .294 mark. NWOSU has three players hitting over .350 for the year, with Nathan Kane leading the group with a .372 mark. Kane has recorded nine run, 16 hits, two doubles and four RBIs. Steven Deckard adds a .354 average, 10 runs, 17 hits, four doubles, two triples, a home run and 10 RBIs.
Of the 15 members of the pitching staff to see action, only two have thrown over 20 innings and seven over 10 innings. Bryce Tomlin has seen the most action, with 25.2 innings, 17 hits and 14 runs allowed, 23 Ks, 4.56 ERA and a 2-2 record. Nick McKinney has thrown 21.2 innings, allowed 32 hits and 29 runs, struck out 19, gone 0-3 and has an ERA of 10.38.
Bacone is currently 4-17 overall, with a three-game series against St. Gregory's on the docket for this weekend before coming to Ada. As a team, the Warriors are hitting .208 on the year and allowing a .291 mark by the opposition.
Nicholas Been and Cameron Henderson led the team at the plate. Been has a .324 average, four runs, 11 hits and an RBI, while Henderson adds a .311 average, 13 runs, 23 hits and four RBIs.
Kyler Johnston is the top pitcher for Bacone, with 34.1 innings of work. Johnston is 1-4 on the year with a 6.29 ERA, 40 hits and 25 runs allowed and 18 Ks.
