ADA – The East Central University baseball team will play the final games of the 2017 regular season at Ken Turner Field, April 28-29 against arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State. A double header is set for Friday, April 28 at noon and a single game Saturday, April 29 at noon, with Senior Day activities to open the day.

Jake Wellington,
Josh Reeves and
Jake MeKeel.
ECU is 10-28 overall and 9-21 in the Great American Conference heading into the weekend, currently ranking ninth in the GAC standings. The Tigers are just two games behind Ouachita Baptist (11-19 GAC), with both teams battling for the final spot in the 2017 GAC Championship Tournament.
ECU went 1-2 last weekend at Southern Nazarene. O'Ravez and Huie led the team with a .500 average over the weekend. O'Ravez tallied five hits and four runs, while Huie netted two hits and an RBI. MeKeel added a .462 average, six hits, four runs and four RBIs.
Junior
Brandon Dusenberry picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game and garnering six strikeouts.
The Savage Storm come into the weekend with a 15-26-1 overall record and a 12-16 mark in the league, placing them seventh in the standing after already clinching a spot in the tournament.
Brett Akins is the top producer for Southeastern, with a .311 average, 42 hits, 19 runs and 25 RBIs. Hunter Harrison adds a .309 average, 43 hits, 27 runs and 30 RBIs.
While, the Savage Storm has a 12-member pitching staff, only two have thrown over 45 innings this season. Hayden Grimes has seen the most time on the mound with 50.2 innings, recording 3-4 record and a 4.80 ERA. He has allowed 33 runs and 64 hits, while striking out 34.
The all-time series with Southeastern (dating back to 1999) currently stands a 20-51 for the Tigers. When playing at home the series stands at 12-30 at Ken Turner Field.
