Soccer Draws Scoreless Tie with Southwestern

ADA – The East Central University soccer team finished its first Great American Conference match of the 2017 season by earning a 0-0 tie with Southwestern Oklahoma State at Tiger Field.

The Tigers (3-3-1, 0-0-1 GAC) were led by junior goalkeeper Chloe Hull.  Hull, who was the GAC Goalkeeper of the Week for Sept. 19, tallied 11 saves and earned her first full shutout of the season.

ECU was outshot by the Bulldogs (4-2-1, 1-0-1 GAC), 42-12 overall and 11 to four for shots on goal.  The Tigers blocked 10 of the shots by the Bulldogs and both teams had a shot deflect off the post during the overtime periods.

ECU will next face Northwestern Oklahoma State, Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. at Tiger Field.  The match will be the fifth of six-straight home matches for the Tigers.
