The game was close at the start, but ECU held an advantage from start to finish.  After the first four minutes, ECU went on a 4-0 run over a two-minute span for a 12-6 lead.  The other Tigers (5-7, 2-3 GAC) countered with a 5-0 run, but only got within one (12-11).

ECU came out of the locker room on fire, going on a 17-0 run to push the lead to 22 (51-29) in the first four minutes.  ECU kept the advantage around 20 the rest of the game, leading by as many as 29 and never letting the lead drop below 17 on the way to an 87-66 victory.
