Women's Basketball Falls at Southern Nazarene

BETHANY, OKLA. – The East Central University women's basketball team suffered a 65-58 loss, in the first road Great American Conference game of the 2018-19 season, at Southern Nazarene.

Scoring
  • First Quarter: 23-16
    • Low scoring to start the game
    • The Tigers (3-3, 0-2 GAC) and the Crimson Storm (1-5, 1-1 GAC) traded shots through the first five minutes
    • 4:22 left the game was tied at 12
    • ECU then used a 9-4 run to take the lead
  • Second Quarter: 14-18 (37-34)
    • First two minutes the Tigers used a 7-2 run to take a 30-18 lead
    • SNU then used small runs through the remaining time to cut the advantage to three at the half
  • Third Quarter: 10-17 (47-51)
    • After a 4-0 run in the final 1:50 in the third quarter, the Crimson Storm added a 6-0 to start the third quarter for a 40-37 lead
    • The run took up almost the first five minutes, before the Tigers scored
    • ECU fought back to tie the game at 42, with 3:42 left
    • The Tigers were then held without a field goal for the rest of the half
      • Final five points came at the free throw line
    • SNU kept up the pressure and used a quick 3-0 run to take control
  • Fourth Quarter: 11-14
    • The Tigers used a 3-0 run in the first 2:30 minutes to cut the deficit to one (50-51)
    • The teams then traded shots through the quarter, with the Crimson Storm holding on to keep the lead between one and three
    • ECU kept fighting and were able to tie the game at 58, with 1:57 remaining
    • Final two minutes the only points came at the free-throw line
      • SNU was the only team that got chances at the line
