ADA – The East Central University men's basketball team struggled with their three-point shooting, resulting in an 89-79 loss to Arkansas-Monticello in the Kerr Activities Center. ECU went 6-of-18 from beyond the arch, while allowing a 14-of 28 mark by the opposition.

The Tigers (10-8, 8-6 GAC) were led by sophomore
Camron Talley, who garnered 19 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Junior
Da'Rion King added 13 points and five boards, while junior
Marcus Lytle netted 10 points and three rebounds.
The Boll Weevils (13-7, 8-6 GAC) started the game on a 7-0 run in the first two minutes and kept pushing until they held a 13-4 advantage, with five minutes off the clock. ECU fought back with a 7-0 run over the next three minutes, but were only able to cut the deficit to two (13-11).
The teams traded runs until the final eight minutes when UAM used a 6-0 run to push ahead for good. The Boll Weevils then slowly built the advantage out the 11, before taking a 41-31 lead into half time.
The second half started close, but the closest that the Tigers could get was an eight-point deficit. UAM pushed the lead out to as many 23, before earning the 89-79 win.
ECU will look to rebound, Saturday, Feb. 3 when they host Southern Arkansas at 3 p.m. in the Kerr Activities Center.
