ADA – The East Central University baseball team will still get to play their Great American Conference series against Southern Arkansas despite the wet weather in the area in the past week.
The teams will play a double-header, Sunday, Feb. 25 starting at 3 p.m. and then a single game, Monday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. in Melissa, Texas at the Melissa Sports Facility.
The Tigers (1-9, 0-3 GAC) fell to Arkansas-Monticello in the first GAC series of the season. ECU was led by sophomore
Cale Ridling, who hit .400, with two hits a run and an RBI.
Junior
Chris Sanchez threw 7.2 innings, allowing seven runs and nine hits, while striking out seven on the mound.
The Muleriders are 7-4 overall and 2-1 after the opening weekend of GAC action against Southeastern.
Jake Tisevich leads SAU at the plate, hitting .500 for the season, 10 hits, four runs and four RBIs.
Four of the Muleriders 15 pitchers have been rotating on the mound. Kenneth Tabor has thrown 16.0 innings, recorded a 1.12 ERA, 2-1 record, allowed seven runs and five hits, while striking out 23.
SAU currently leads the all-time series 33-10, with a 12-6 mark when playing as GAC opponents and 1-0 on a neutral field.
