NOTICE: SCHEDULE CHANGE
ADA – The East Central University baseball team will play its second non-conference series of the season Feb. 8-9 at Central Oklahoma. The teams will first play a single game, Thursday, Feb. 8 starting at 2 p.m. and then play a double-header, Friday, Feb. 9 starting at 12 p.m. in Edmond, Okla.
The Tigers went 1-3 on opening weekend at Southwest Baptist. ECU saw two players hit over .400 in the four-game series, with senior
Zach Trueblood leading the team with a .533 average. Trueblood tallied eight hits, five runs and three RBIs. Sophomore
Cale Ridling added a .429 average, six hits, five runs, two home runs and four RBIs.
Junior
Chris Sanchez saw the most action on the mound, throwing 6.0 innings, allowing five runs and eight hits and striking out six batters.
UCO also finished the opening weekend of the 2018 season with a 1-3 record at the Air Hogs DII Classic. The Bronchos won their opening game against Oklahoma Christian and then dropped the next three games against Great American Conference teams, Arkansas Tech, Southeastern and Southern Arkansas.
UCO was scheduled to face Oklahoma Baptist Feb 6, but the game was delayed due to weather. The Bronchos have one more game on the schedule before hosting the Tigers. Missouri Southern State is set to play UCO, Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Wendell Simmons Field.
After the Bronchos earned three wins last season in a home-and-away series, UCO leads the all-time series with ECU, 44-12. The Bronchos also hold a 24-5 advantage when playing in Edmond.
