Baseball Hitting the Road to Face Arkansas Tech

ADA – The East Central University baseball team will hit the road for a three-game Great American Conference series at Arkansas Tech, March 30-31 in Russellville, Ark.  A single game is set for Friday, March 30 at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 31.

The Tigers (2-25, 1-17 GAC) have three players hitting over .300 on the season, with senior Bryce Dimitroff leading the way with a .327 average.  Dimitroff has 33 hits, 11 runs and 11 RBIs.

The Wonder Boys come into the weekend with an 18-11 overall record and an 11-7 mark in league action after earning a non-conference win over Ouachita Baptist (10-6) Tuesday, March 27.

ATU has three players hitting over .300 for the season, with Jake Harvey hitting .357 at the top of the list.  Harvey has 20 hits, 13 runs and 12 RBIs, while Riley Hickerson adds 38 hits, 23 runs and 30 RBIs.

Of the 12 members of the pitching staff, Michael Muller and Hayes Cox are the only players with over 40 innings of action.  Mueller has pitched 52.1 innings, has a 3-3 record, allowed 54 hits and 32 runs and struck out 58.

Since 2000, the Tigers and the Wonder Boys have played on 40 previous occasions, with ATU leading 26-14 overall.  The Wonder Boys also add a 14-3 lead as league opponents, but they are deadlocked at 10-10 when playing in Russellville.
