ADA – The East Central University baseball team will play one of its three remaining Great American Conference series, with games at Oklahoma Baptist April 13-14. The teams will play a doubleheader Friday, April 13 starting at 2 p.m. and then a single game Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m.
The Tigers are 3-30 overall and 2-22 in the GAC after going 1-2 at home against Harding last weekend. ECU won the final game of the series, 9-8, after coming back from an 8-0 deficit.
The Tigers have four players hitting over .300 for the year, with senior
Bryce Dimitroff leading the way with a .367 average, 18 runs, 47 hits and 15 RBIs. Last weekend, Dimitroff hit .571, with three RBIs, eight hits and three runs.
Sophomore
Wyatt Austin earned the win on the mound, moving to 2-1 on the year. Austin threw the final 1.2 innings, allowing no hits or runs.
The Bison come into the series with a 20-14 overall record and a 13-9 mark in league play. Juan Gonzalez is one of five players who have seen action in more than 20 games and has a batting average over .300. Gonzalez has earned a .394 mark for the year, 25 runs, 43 hits and 22 RBIs.
Zach Fowler and Mychal Yarbor have seen the most time on the mound. Fowler has thrown 53.0 innings, has a 3.74 ERA, 5-3 record, 56 hits and 32 (22 earned) runs allowed and 65 Ks. Yarbor adds a 4.30 ERA, 4-3 record, 49 hits and 31 (25 earned) runs allowed, and struck out 58 batters in 52.1 innings of work.
Since 2009 the teams have met on 20 previous occasions, with OBU holding a 16-4 lead in the all-time series. The Bisons are 6-4 when playing in Shawnee and they are 4-2 when playing as GAC opponents.
