SHAWNEE, OKLA. – The East Central University baseball team dropped the final game of the three-game Great American Conference series at Oklahoma Baptist 4-2.
The Tigers (3-33, 2-25 GAC) were led by sophomore
Cale Ridling who tallied three of ECU's six hits for the day, while also scoring once.
The Bison (23-14, 16-9 GAC) were the first to score, going up 3-0 after a run in the first and two in the second.
The Tigers were able to cut into the deficit with a single run in the third. After the first two outs, sophomore
Hayden George and senior
Connor Stevenson were walked. That allowed sophomore
Dakota Washington to send a run home when he reached on an error.
Both teams kept each other scoreless until the eighth inning when both were able to add one more run to their totals for a 4-2 score.
ECU earned its run on singles from Ridling and junior
Josh Lincoln.
However, that would be the end of the scoring, with the Tigers falling 4-2.
The teams will turn around and face each other Tuesday, April 17 at 6 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla., for their makeup non-conference game from earlier this season.
