ADA – In the final two games of the Great American Conference series with Southeastern Oklahoma State, the East Central University softball team fell 8-2 and 10-5 at Tiger Field.

After being named GAC Freshman of the Week for her performance last week earlier in the day, freshman
Jacey Henry again led the Tigers (20-26, 15-21 GAC). Henry tallied a .500 average, four hits, two runs, two doubles, a home run and two RBIs.
ECU will now get ready for a road series at Southern Nazarene, April 20-21 in Bethany, Okla.
SE 2, ECU 8
The Tigers got the scoring starting in the opening game of the day, netting two runs in the first inning. Senior
Alissa Taylor led off with a single and was sent to third when Henry doubled. Both runners then scored when freshman
Tarah Hilton singled through the right side.
The Savage Storm (30-18, 24-11 GAC) started their comeback in the next inning, cutting the deficit in half with a single run. SE then added five in the third and two in the sixth for the 8-2 final.
SE 10, ECU 5
The Savage Storm took control of the game early, with three runs in the top of the first.
The Tigers were able to get a run on the board in the second, for a 3-1 deficit. Junior
Kahlie Barrett started the inning with a double and was followed on base when freshman
Angel Stoker reached because of an error. Junior
Ellanee Allison earned the RBI when she hit into a fielder choice.
Southeastern countered with four more runs in the third for a 7-1 advantage. ECU was able to get one back in the bottom of the inning for a 7-2 tally.
Taylor and Henry both singled and Taylor moved to third on a fielder's choice by senior Clarissa Clemmons. That allowed Hilton to earn the RBI with a fielder's choice of her own.
The Savage Storm pushed ahead to a 10-2 advantage, with two runs in the fourth and a run in the fifth.
The Tigers held off the run-rule situation with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Taylor was on base because of an error when Henry hit a home run to left field.
ECU was able to add one more run to the board for the 10-5 final in the seventh inning. Freshman
Tatiana Bryant reached due to an error, before junior
Aundrea Hamric was put on the bases to run. She then stole second and scored when Taylor singled down the left field line.
