ADA – For the final time in 2018, the East Central University baseball team will play at Ken Turner Field. The Tigers will host Southern Nazarene, April 20-21, with a doubleheader set for Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. and a single game Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m.
Prior to Saturday's game, ECU will honor its six seniors:
Trevor Crone,
Bryce Dimitroff,
Kiyaanii Bohan,
Zach Trueblood,
Connor Stevenson and
Joe Cooney.
The Tigers are 3-34 overall and 2-25 in the Great American Conference, with just two weeks left in the regular season.
Dimitroff is the top producer for the Tigers in 2018, hitting .364, with 51 hits, 20 runs, 12 doubles, two home runs and 20 RBIs. Crone adds a .292 average, while Stevenson has hit .276 and Trueblood .250 on the year.
Bohan has appeared in 14 games, with six starts and 15 Ks, while Cooney has been on the mound in 11 games and struck out seven.
The Crimson Storm are 11-25 overall and 7-20 in the GAC after going 1-2 against Southeastern last weekend.
SNU has three players hitting over .300 on the year, with Cole Wagner leading the group with a .357 average, 46 hits, 25 runs, 11 doubles, five home runs, and 26 RBIs.
One of the top pitchers for the Crimson Storm is David Gustafson, with a 4-4 record, 56 hits and 39 runs allowed and 45 strikeouts.
The teams have met on 21 previous occasions since 1999, with SNU leading 12-9 overall. However, the Tigers are 8-7 when playing as GAC teams and 6-3 when playing at Ken Turner Field.
