SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – The East Central University volleyball team fell in its final two matches of the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational, hosted by Angelo State. The Tigers (0-4) fell 3-0 (25-, 16, 25-13, 25-20) to the host Rams and then 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-11, 25-19) to Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Angelo State Match Highlights
- Set One: Set was close through the first 12 points before ASU went on a 12-1 run
- The Rams kept pushing through for a 25-16 win
- Set Two: ASU took an early 8-3 advantage before claiming the 25-13 win
- Set Three: Tied at three before the Tigers took a 5-3 advantage
- The Rams fought back to tie the set at nine and then took a 12-9 lead
- ASU kept the lead the rest of the set for the 25-20 win

- Set One: ECU fell into an early deficit and fell 25-12
- Set Two: Tigers took a 6-0 lead, but the Javelinas tied the set at seven
- ECU took two or three-point leads and then saw the set tied again
- Last tie at 20, when the Tigers used a 5-3 run to claim a 25-23 win
- Set Three: ECU fell behind early and TAMUK kept pushing to the 25-11 win
- Set Four: The Javelinas took an early lead and kept it around five points until winning 25-19
