Volleyball Finishes Up at South Central Classic

DURANT, OKLA. – The East Central University volleyball team played its final two games of the South Central Classic hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State.  The Tigers (0-8) fell 3-1 to New Mexico Highlands and Texas Woman's.

New Mexico Highland Scoring
  • Set One: L, 25-22
    • Four ties and one lead change
    • Final tie at 16, NMHU then 4-0 run to take control for good
  • Set Two: L, 25-18
    • Five ties and two lead changes
    • Final tie at seven, then the Cowgirls used an 8-0 run to take control
  • Set Three: W, 25-21
    • Seven ties and four lead changes
    • Final tie at 18, ECU then 3-0 run for the lead
  • Set Four: L, 25-18
    • Six ties and two lead changes
    • Final tie at six, NMHU then small runs through rest of set for win
New Mexico Highland Notables
  • Teams both tallied six service aces
  • ECU trailed the Cowgirls by just one dig (57-58)
  • Junior Kaitlyn Coffey: 11 kills, 2 block assists, two digs
  • Senior Karina Erreguin: 10 kills, .222 (10k-4e-27ta) hitting percentage, one service aces, four (2-2) blocks, eight digs
