Volleyball Finishes Non-Conference Schedule at Randall

MOORE, Okla. – The East Central University volleyball team finished up their 2019 non-conference regular-season schedule with a 3-1 (24-26, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25) loss at Randall.

Scoring
  • Set One:  L, 24-26
    • The Saints (13-13) jumped out to an early 7-2 advantage
    • The Tigers (2-20) fought back with a 12-7 run to get within four (10-14)
    • The set was tight from there, with ECU slowly cutting the deficit until it was within one (21-22)
    • The Tigers then pushed the tempo and tied the set at 24 to force extra points
    • But the Saints were able to hold on for the win
  • Set Two: L, 22-25
    • The set was close, with ECU holding a one-or two-point advantage most of the time before RU gained it first lead at 9-10
    • The Saints continued the run to 9-13
    • The Tigers were able to cut the deficit to two (17-19)
    • ECU was able to get within one late in the set before falling
  • Set Three: W, 25-22
    • The set was close until the middle when the Tigers pushed the momentum and increased their lead to six (12-18)
    • RU fought back within two, but could not gain the advantage
  • Set Four: L, 21-25
    • The set was tight from start to finish, with no team leading by more than three
    • The Saints came back late and took their first lead 20-21
    • That momentum swing was all RU needed to take the victory
