Women’s Basketball Top the Pioneers

ADA, Okla. – The East Central University women's basketball team took an early advantage and never let up, defeating Texas Woman's University 61-42 in non-conference action at the Kerr Activities Center.

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 16-3
    • The Tigers (2-5) started the game on an 8-0 run
    • The Pioneers (3-2) got the score to 12-3, with 3:15 left to play
    • No team scored until 35 seconds remained in the stanza
    • ECU went on a 4-0 run in the final seconds
  • 2nd Quarter: 10-15 (31-13)
    • TWU started the quarter with a 4-0 run, in the first two minutes
    • Mid way through the stanza the Tigers took control
      • 11-6 run to end the quarter
      • So. Hanna Ladd hit a buzzer beating triple
  • 3rd Quarter:  12-17 (43-30)
    • The Tigers pushed the lead out to 18 in the first 30 seconds
    • ECU kept the advantage around 13-15 points for most of the time
    • In the final two minutes, the Pioneers went on a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 10, with 16 second remaining
  • 4th Quarter: 18-12
    • The Tigers scored in the first 10 seconds of the quarter and then both teams were silent for the next two minutes
    • ECU kept the advantage between 11-14 points for the next two minutes
    • The Tigers then started a 10-0 run to push the lead to 21 (60-39), with 1:41 left to play
