Women’s Basketball Defeats Newman

WICHITA, Kan. – The East Central University women's basketball team picked up its first win of the 2019 season, defeating host Newman in the final day of the Clarion Inn Invitational, 58-43.

Scoring
  • First Quarter: 10-15
    • The Jets (1-1) opened the game on a 5-0, in the first two minutes
    • The Tigers (1-1) followed with an 8-0 run over the next four minutes
    • Newman countered with a 7-0 run until the final 22 seconds
    • ECU ended the stanza with two free-throws

    • Continued the run to 13-0 through the first five minutes of the stanza
