Men’s Basketball Falls to Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, ARK. – The East Central University men's basketball team battled through an 86-72 loss at Ouachita Baptist in Great American Conference action.

Scoring
  • First Half: 39-38
    • The stanza was a back-and-forth battle, with no team leading by more than five
    • Between 12:40 and 10:40 no team was able to score
    • Ouachita (14-11, 11-10 GAC) led for all but 1:26 of the half
    • The Tigers (16-10, 13-8 GAC) took their first lead since 8:18 with, 33 seconds left to play
    • In the final 1:30 ECU used a 6-0 run to gain the one-point advantage
  • Second Half: 33-48
    • The teams traded points, with the Tigers holding the lead through the first 4:30 minutes
    • The battled continued, with ECU regaining the lead with 12 minutes left (56-55)
    • Ouachita then started an 8-0 run over the next three minutes to push the lead to 63-56
    • Ouachita kept pushing and used several small runs to take control for good
    • Ouachita led by as many as 15 in the final nine minutes
