Women’s Basketball Snaps Losing Streak with Win at Northwestern

ALVA, OKLA. – The East Central University women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak with an 88-80 victory at Northwestern Oklahoma State in Great American Conference action.

Scoring
  • First Quarter: 27-10
    • The Tigers (14-7, 10-6 GAC) opened the game on an 8-2 run in the first minute
    • In the final 4:43, ECU went on a 10-0 run to move the lead from seven to 17
  • Second Quarter: 13-19 (40-29)
    • The Rangers (9-14, 6-10 GAC) were able to go on a 4-0 run in the first three minutes (27-15)
    • NWOSU continued to keep the pressure through the stanza, but could not get closer than 10
  • Third Quarter: 21-28 (61-57)
    • The Rangers were able to cut the deficit back to three (42-45) in the first four minutes
    • ECU then added a 9-2 run in the next minute to lead by 11 (53-42)
    • In the final five minutes NWOSU kept up the pressure and cut the disadvantage to four, with a 15-8 run
  • Fourth Quarter: 27-23
    • The teams traded shots for the first four minutes (71-64)
    • The Tigers then went on a 4-2 run in the next two minutes to puts the lead back to nine (74-66)
    • ECU kept the lead around nine points the rest of the stanza
