Volleyball Finishes Up South Central Classic

DURANT, Okla. – The East Central University volleyball team wrapped up the South Central Classic, hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State, with 3-0 losses to UT-Tyler and Cameron.

ECU vs. UT-Tyler
Scoring
  • Set One: L, 20-25
    • The Tigers (0-9) took an early 4-2 advantage
    • The Patriots (5-3) fought back to tie it at four
    • The teams traded serves, resulting in ties at 7, 12 and 14
    • UTT then used a 4-0 run to take the lead for good
    • The Patriots had the lead out to six (22-16)
    • ECU fought back and forced three set points
  • Set Two: L, 19-25
    • The teams battled through the first 10 serves for a 5-all tie
    • UTT then took control with a 6-2 run and kept pushing the tempo the rest of the set
  • Set Three: L, 14-25
    • The Tigers jumped out to an early 6-2 advantage
    • The Patriots fought back to tie the set at seven, with a 5-1 run
    • UTT continued the run to 10-1 to take a 12-7 lead

  • Set One: L, 19-25
    • The beginning of the set was tight, with no team leading by more than two
    • The Aggies (2-3) were the first to take a larger lead, using a 4-0 run to lead 12-6
    • The Tigers kept the score around the six-point deficit until the final few points of the set
  • Set Two: L, 22-25
    • The set was close at the start, with a tied at four
    • Cameron went on a 4-0 run to take an advantage, but ECU didn't quit fighting
    • Kept the deficit around three points, getting as close as one late into the set
    • The Tigers trailed 16-21, but fought back with a 4-0 run to get within one (20-21)
    • The teams traded points for the rest of the set until the Aggies were able to string two points together for the win
  • Set Three: L, 17-25
    • Cameron came out fighting in the set, taking a 4-1 lead
    • ECU fought back to tie the set at four and take a 5-4 advantage
    • The teams then traded points, with ties at 5, 6 and 7
    • The Aggies then used a 5-0 run to take control, 11-7
    • Set remained close the rest of the way
