MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The East Central University volleyball team moved its record-setting winning-streak to six matches, with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-21) victory at Southern Arkansas.
Scoring
- Set 1: 25-17
- The Tigers (9-9, 5-1 GAC) started the match on the right foot, going on a 4-0 run
- The Muleriders (5-12, 1-6 GAC) kept fighting and got within two (10-8)
- ECU then took control for good, with another 4-0 run (14-8)
- The Tigers kept pushing and increased the lead to as many at 8
- Set 2: 25-16
- The teams traded serves for the opening six points (3-3)
- ECU then took control for good, with a 3-0 run
- SAU got within one (9-8), using a 5-3 run
- The Tigers countered with a 5-2 run to push the tempo back in their favor
- ECU built the lead out to as many as 7

- The Tigers opened the set on a 5-1 run
- The Muleriders kept the disadvantage between 3-5 for most of the set
- SAU kept up the pressure and was able to cut the lead to two (17-15)
- But ECU quickly pushed the lead back to 5, with a 3-0 run
- The Muleriders did not give up and got back within two (20-18)
- The teams traded serves for the rest of the match, but the Tigers got the final two points to claim the victory
