Women’s Basketball Picks Up Win at Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The East Central University women's basketball team earned a win in their final game before the holiday break, defeating Oklahoma Baptist 61-56 at the Noble Complex.

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 14-13
    • The Bison (6-4, 1-2 GAC) opened the game on a 5-0 run in the first two minutes
    • OBU kept the lead around for the next four minutes (7-13)
    • The Tigers (5-3, 2-2 GAC) then made their push and used a 10-0 run through the remaining time to take a one-point advantage
  • 2nd Quarter: 19-13 (33-26)
    • ECU continued the run into the second stanza
      • 7-1 run in the first 1:30 minutes (21-15)
    • The Tigers kept up the pressure through the rest of the half
      • Increased the lead to as many as 10, with small runs
  • 3rd Quarter: 10-8 (43-34)
    • ECU kept the advantage on the scoreboard around 10 throughout the stanza
  • 4th Quarter: 18-22 (61-56)
    • The Bison started the quarter with a 5-2 run to cut the deficit to six (45-39)
    • The Tigers fought back and quickly got the lead back around 10, until the final 2:30 minutes
    • OBU made one more push and went on a 7-0 run to get within five (56-51), with a minute left to play
    • The teams traded points for the rest of the game, but ECU kept the advantage on their side
